Tim Lower, 19 years, Router
"I started as a driver with Tax-Air and I now work as a Router. My job as a Router is to schedule the driver and set up their deliveries for the day. On a busy day, we will schedule up to 900 deliveries. Working as a router has allowed me to learn a whole different avenue of the transportation business. In this position, you have to be able to handle stress and enjoy making decisions quickly. Our customers are depending on us to make the right decisions for them, all the time."
Sue Hanson, 14 years, Inside Sales Support
"My responsibilities include supporting the Sales team in setting up new clients on our computer system, dealing directly with the client, and making sure they are receiving the highest standard of service possible."
Bill Jopek, 18 years, Dock Worker
"After my service years in the Army, I did some factory work before coming to Tax-Air. I start work at 4:00am and usually work until 2:30pm. It's non-stop action aound here, one thing after another – every day is something different and it is physically demanding work! In this fast-paced environment, things change and you have to be flexible and accommodating. It is also essential that you become familiar with the freight and understand that it has to be handled in different ways."
"Tax-Air is a great place to work, family-oriented and you get to know everybody. If you can use your head and are not afraid of hard work, this is the place for you."
Craig Ramseier, 12 years, Controller
"I joined Tax-Air right after I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. I started my career here in a clerical position and worked my way up from there. My responsibilities range from payroll to producing management reports that allow us to make strategic business decisions to grow the company. I have three departments that report to me: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll. The biggest challenge for management in the transportation industry is to pinpoint exactly how things are going right at the moment. It is, quite literally, a quick moving and very fluid marketplace."
"Tax-Air is a very dynamic and interesting working environment."
Christy Montoya, 2 years, Customer Care Representative
"I was working at a catalog company in Illinois before I came to work at Tax-Air two years ago. My responsibilities range from preparing daily reports to dealing with clients on the telephone. In the Customer Care Department we also take pick-up requests, verify documentation and track delivery status."
"To be successful in customer care you must be genuinely willing to help people. It is essential to show patience and to understand the situation from the client’s point of view. The commitment to go the "extra mile" to solve a problem is what makes the difference."
Tax-Air has a tremendous family atmosphere and employee appreciation program. The leadership of the company truly appreciates the employees and demonstrates it every day in word and action. In particular, I am thankful for the company’s concern regarding our health and well being."
